“Ellie altered my wedding dress for me....everytime I tried my dress on before seeing Ellie I was really unhappy with it....she turned it into my dream dress. I felt beautiful and comfortable on the day, which I didn't think I would, thanks so much Ellie xxx”
"Ellie has altered many of my dresses including evening gowns and has done an amazing professional job of them. She has also taken up trousers seamlessly."
"Would highly recommend Ellie, she altered my wedding dress back in July and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The dress didn’t fit when I collected it from the bridal shop and i was so upset but the moment I met Ellie I was put at ease. She is amazing at what she does and couldn’t have been more helpful. If you need any alterations Ellie is definitely the lady for the job! Thank you for being so patient, supportive and making my dress perfect!”
"Ellie is amazing. So talented and good at what she does. She made me feel so at ease and comfortable when I was having my fittings and my dress looks absolutely amazing. I cannot wait to wear it! 5 star all the way and if you need any alterations doing then I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you Ellie!"

When should I start the alteration process?
As a minimum, you should have your first fitting at least 8 weeks before either the day of your wedding or the day you leave should you be having your wedding overseas. However, it is recommended you book your first fitting appointment well in advance of this 8-week period to ensure your alterations can be fitted in time, especially in cases where dress alterations are extensive.
What do I do if I want to lose weight before my wedding day?
If you intend on losing some weight before your big day, you will need to have reached your desired and final weight by your first fitting session. Any further weight change will make the process difficult and likely result in additional costs, and in extreme cases, the dress might not even be finalised before the wedding.
How much will my alterations cost?
This is a very understandable question asked by many brides. However, unfortunately the answer is pretty much “how long is a piece of string?”. Should customers require a cost estimate in advance, we will endeavour to provide this when you book your first fitting, but please bear in mind the cost will depend on what alterations are needed, the construction of your dress, availability of materials, and the level of dress detail. We will provide an exact price at the end of your first fitting session; after your dress has been fitted, pinned and we can see how much work is required.
Can I bring someone with me to my fitting(s)?
You are more than welcome to bring someone to your appointment(s), however the fitting room is a relatively small space so we recommend no more than 3 people at once, including the bride. We need to be able to manoeuvre and have good sight of the dress from every angle. This also applies to bridesmaid fittings - we can only accommodate 3 people at one time so if you have more than 2 bridesmaids, we suggest booking 2 separate fittings to make the appointments a comfortable experience for all.
How can I pay for my alterations and is a deposit required?
No deposit is required, unless fabric needs to be purchased to make the alterations you’ve requested. Payment can be made by cash or via bank transfer, in full or in instalments (to be agreed), but in any case payment needs to be settled prior to dress collection.
How many fittings will I need in total?
Most brides will need 2 fittings in total to achieve their desired fit - the first fitting to set and pin the dress around the customer and the second to check the final fitting and to take the dress home. The more extensive the dress alterations the more fittings will be required.
What do I need to bring with me to my fittings?
Please ensure that you bring any undergarments that you will be wearing on the day, and most importantly your wedding shoes to aid dress length measurements.
What should I expect at my fittings?
Please be aware that the workroom is up one flight of stairs. Should you need any assistance, please let us know on booking and we will accommodate in any way we can.
